The Makita XRU02Z uses 0.080 inch diameter nylon trimmer line. It is recommended to use Makita's proprietary line for optimal performance and durability.

If the trimmer line keeps breaking, ensure you are using the correct diameter and type of line (0.080 inch Makita line). Also, avoid trimming too close to hard surfaces like rocks or concrete, as this can cause the line to break prematurely.
To replace the trimmer line, first ensure the tool is turned off and the battery is removed. Then, remove the trimmer head, clear out any remaining line, and wind the new line around the spool in the direction indicated on the head. Reassemble the trimmer head and you're ready to go.
The Makita XRU02Z comes as a tool only, without a battery or charger. You will need to purchase a compatible Makita 18V LXT Lithium-Ion battery and charger separately.
