arteza metallic gouache paint, set of 36, 12ml/0.4 us fl

Tubes are small, so it won't last a long time, but I'm not a serious painter and just wanted these for dot Mandala painting. I love the Arteza brand, but it is usually way too pricey for me to justify my hobby interests and buy. Got this one on sale and I'm really happy.

Usually I'm a Winsor-Newton watercolor gouache kind of person, and I like Schmincke pearl gold when I needed a metallic gold, but when I saw the kind of results my friend had from her colored metallic gouaches, I wanted to expand my horizons. I looked at a lot of different brands before I decided that Arteza had the best split between price, variety, and quality. Once they came in, I was really thrilled with how they felt while working with them. So far, I've used them for projects on red, black, and purple paper and have been pleased with my results. If you need something unique for your paintkit, these are a fun addition.

Great for use for accents in adult coloring books. Need no water, just use sparingly out of the tube with a fine tipped waterbrush.Lovely Metallic glow and excellent blending. Very smooth and lovely! Good color selection as well...Very pleased and highly recommend!

I love the variety of metallic gouache paints, but I was a bit surprised in the formula. It's a little thinner, a little less creamy, and a little less opaque than I had anticipated. It is supposed to be thick as far as opaqueness goes, but it seems more sheer. The colors are still quite vibrant and not runny. It's kind of hard to explain because even though they're thinner, they're also a little coarse because of the mica. I find myself going back over spots for a little more pop of color.I do love the metallic variety and these work great mixed in with acrylics. The colors are similar to some of my metallic acrylics, but the formulation is a bit different. The shimmer shows up a little when painting, but once it dries down, it really pops with a glimmer. If I rotate the paper or move it, I can see all of the reflects and mica.The tubes are not blister sealed. They were all open, so I don't know how long they'll last. They are sealed with an outer cap, but nothing inside. Some of them do try to rush out when I open the caps, even though I haven't been squeezing the tubes. I don't add any additional water because these are plenty spreadable already. It's hard to describe but they are simultaneously thick and thinner than expected. They come out of the tube nice and chunky but spread out thinner. They're kind of like a mixture of a watercolor and an acrylic, with some pigment added.They blend okay, but it's hard to mix over areas already painted because it can cause runniness and cause the formula to get wet again. I usually presketch out my idea and then go through with the paint. I keep everything flat lay because it does seem to want to slowly run down the page if I add layering too thick. I like kind of a chunkier or thicker look so I'm heavy with the paint. Letting it dry for a little while, it isn't an issue to put the canvas on an easel. If I'm softer handed, it also works well when I spread the color out. I'm still happy with it, though. It dries to a nice glimmer and has a smooth feel. It isn't so sparkly that it looks like glitter, but it's shimmery enough to see all the reflects from the mica.Clean up is easy too. I used warm water and a gentle soap. It's pretty forgiving too. If you want to wait to clean all the brushes, just a warm water soak will loosen and clean it up. It doesn't harden like some formulas. It is gritty to a degree, but not so much that it's flakey or clumpy.One negative thing for me was the lack of flesh tones. It leaves a lot to be desired when painting characters, people, manga, or cartoons. I did a fair bit of mixing and they mix pretty alright. With some patience, the reds, browns, yellows, and white can make some decent enough skin tones but a few in the set beyond basic whites and brown would be good. I know it's a metallic set, but it would still be nice to have the options without a lot of mixing.The price is on the upper end for the tube size, but it does come wit 36 tubes and it's quite a variety of mica tones that are harder to find. It blends well, it's smooth after it's on the canvas, it doesn't take too long to dry, and it's a lot of fun. I wish it were creamier and held up a little better when I put it on thicker, but I'm happy with it and would get these again. Definitely kid and family painting friendly.

Can be applied easily and goes on smoother. If you want a more sheer appearance just add a little water. Great paint.

J’ai adoré ce produit et j’aurais dû acheter l’ensemble de 60 tubes pour si peu de plus, si j’avais vu cette offre! Je le recommande pour les débutants et les illustrateurs avancés dans les livres à colorier pour adultes. Le rendu est excellent avec une bonne opacité qui peuvent remplacer l’achat d’aquarelles métalliques. Pour les intéresser, on peut mettre un scellant à vernis pour gouache ou à la cire froide que l’on applique avec un chiffon pour quelques dollars, si l’on ne veut préserver ses chef-œuvres!

I have just used these Arteza Metallic Gouache paints for the first time today 7/10/23. I bought them way back in 11/12/21. Can't believe I waited so long to use them. I want to give a wooden wardrobe a makeover, (already painted white and affectionally named Cupboardy by my daughter ) and so did a small quick design on paper with these paints. They are stunningly beautiful, I gasped with amazement when I saw how reflective they are. So much choice with so many colours. I discovered you can layer the colours over each other for beautiful effects. I didn't want to waste the paint by squeezing it into a palette so just used a small damp brush to take the paint directly from the tube as I only needed tiny amounts. It can be used watered down and gives a lovely metallic wash. Now I have to get Arteza's Metallic Acrylic paints so I can do the real thing on the wardrobe with lotus leaves, blue lotus flowers plus wisteria hanging down, metallic hummingbirds and butterflies. I have just bought my daughter a set of these after telling her how beautiful they are. Even the box they come in is good quality, so smooth and tactile and the 36 colours in little trays of 6 fit in the box nicely. I have used ordinary gouache paints before for floral painting but these metallic ones will add something extra special to any artwork.A high quality product, highly recommended.

Ich male gerne zeitgenössisch und abstrakt und liebe dabei lebensbejahende Farben. Das Set hat wirklich eine wunderbare Auswahl an metallisch schimmernden Farben mit denen man farbenfrohe Werke erschaffen kann. Obwohl die Tuben klein sind, so sind sie doch sehr reichhaltig und man verbraucht recht wenig davon. Hab nicht gezählt wieviele Werke erstanden sind, aber ich benutze ja auch noch andere Farben von ARTEZA.
